This article is devoted to the topical topic of how the process of adaptation of civil servants to professional activity. The author indicates what adaptation is, its types, the effectiveness of the adaptation process et the present time. The author also revealed that the adaptation process is very important for the effective functioning and development of the civil service. It is possible to increase the efficiency of the public service by introducing modern management methods into the concept of its management.
